There is a saying goes like this: “Never judge a book by its cover”. The meaning of the proverb is that everybody shouldn’t judge everything only by its cover. Maybe a book which doesn’t look nice is a good book. Judging a person is like judging a book.

I had a friend when I was in junior school. His name is Tom. He was new in our school when I was in junior three. When I saw him for the first time, I didn’t like him at all. He looked a little fat and his eyes were small. I didn’t change my mind until one day. We were having PE class. My friend tripped himself and broke his knee. Tom went on at once, raised him up and sent him to the clinic. After that, I changed my mind. I found that Tom is a good person and is warmhearted. Finally I made friends with him.

From my story, I know that we can’t judge one person only by his appearance. Internal beauty is more important than external appearance. To sum up, the proverb has profound and realistic significance. We should judge everything properly.

Everyone is familiar with the proverb, “Never judge a book by its cover”. The essence of the saying is that some books have a beautiful cover, but their content may be very boring. A person is just like a book, his internal beauty is more important than his external appearance.

One of my own stories is a typical example. Xiao Hua is my secondary school classmates. The first time I saw him, he was not dressed well, thin and dark. At that time, I didn’t want to make friends with Xiao Hua and stayed away from him. But his behaviour changed my mind. One day, I was playing with mu classmates on the playground. We ran after others. Suddenly, I tumbled, and the blood ran out of my knee. At that time, Xiao Hua came close to me, and helped me to the clinic. After the doctor’s treatment, he helped me back to the classroom. I was very touched at that time, and I told him that I want to make friends with him. He replied me with joy, and we are still friends till now.

From the story of Xiao Hua and me, I think I agree with this proverb. It takes time to read a book, and it also takes time to know whether a man have an internal beauty.
